ABOUT US.

Who are we?

“Through collaboration alone will we see our love and passion for this tradition outlive the very hands that practice it.”

Tommy Newbold

The Bulletin was founded by Tommy Newbold in Edinburgh in September 2022. The aim of the project is to spark conversation, create cohesion and inspire the Scottish cider industry into a unified, prosperous future. We also act to educate and inform the public on contentious issues surrounding cider and lead the market to a higher value perception for cider & perry’s.

sustainability

Whether it’s environmental, economic or social, sustainability is a pillar of what we believe in at the bulletin. To realise our dreams of a long and prosperous cider tradition in Scotland we must conscious of our actions as it is through them that we will be remembered.

innovation

We believe strongly that Scotland should see itself as a new world haven for cider making. Using new technologies, techniques and ideologies to reconnect with a lost heritage of the Scottish apple. This innovation in the sector will be the lasting key that sets Scottish cider apart on the global stage.

IDENTITY

The Bulletin acts not as a place to dictate ideas but to generate discussion. It is through this discussion we hope that the tradition will find its identity. We aim to raise awareness of Scottish cider and celebrate the unique work being done.
